FAQ

Who made the game?

Slender: The Arrival is developed by Blue Isle Studios in collaboration with Mark (Agent Parsec) Hadley; creator of the original Slender game phenomenon. Blue Isle Studios is an independent game design company based out of Toronto, Canada.

Who wrote the game's story?

We teamed up with Joseph DeLage, Troy Wagner, and Tim Sutton; creators of the infamous Marble Hornets Youtube series to write a brand new story for the game.

The original Slender game was very simple, is there more to do in Slender: The Arrival?

Yes! While everyone's favourite forest is back, there is much more to do this time around. The game contains a fully-fledged storyline, all new characters, and new foes and enemies, all of this spanning across nine unique environments.

How long is the game?

The Arrival is an expanded version of the original game. From start to finish, we'd estimate the game will take you roughly two hours for an average playthrough. The length of the game totally depends on how much time you want to spend exploring, collecting, investigating, and trying new difficulty levels.

Part of what made the original game so great was the lack of story or detailed graphics; won't the addition of these ruin the experience?

We agree that the original Slender was spectacular in its simplicity. We kept this in mind while developing the new game and were very careful to preserve the games famous atmosphere. The story and improved visuals we have added serve to improve the experience, not take away from it.

Which game engine are you using to make the new game?

Like the original Slender, we used the Unity engine to create The Arrival.

The original game lagged on my computer; will this game have any performance improvements?

Absolutely, we've added a wide range of graphics options so that you can make sure your performance is optimal. Due to large outdoor scenes, laptops with integrated video cards will likely have to play the game on lower graphics settings than gaming desktops.

I purchased Slender: The Arrival before it was released on Steam. Do I have to buy it again to activate the game on Steam?

If you purchased the game from our website prior to the Steam release, you'll get a Steam copy for free. Use the same license key we sent to you when you originally purchased. You can input that key in Steam to unlock the game, just remember to remove the dashes before entering your key.

How much does the game cost?

The game has a retail price from $4.99 USD on mobile and $10 USD on console/PC.

How is the game distributed?

The game is available right now for download on Steam, Playstation 4, Xbox One, Playstation3, Xbox 360 and Wii U, mobile: Android and iOS devices.

Can you play with a controller on the mobile version?

Yes you sure can! And we encourage you to do so!

Slender Man was created by Victor Surge, how are you able to release a commercial product?

We have licensed the rights to use Slender Man in Slender: The Arrival from the character's creator.

All of the settings are low, but the game still lags

If you still encounter issues try lowering your resolution. You might even be able to turn some of your settings up when your computer is at a lower resolution. For mobile users we encourage you to remove any apps running in the background to improve performance.

The game crashes

We're sorry to hear you are experiencing this.

If this is a PC related crash please email support@blueislestudios.com with your full computer specs. In the folder you installed your game, there's a dated folder that looks a lot like this '2013-02-09_150446' Please send us either the entire folder, or the output_log.txt inside it.

If this is a console or mobile crash, please let us know what system you’re playing on and your system specs.

The game seems easier than The Eight Pages

We intentionally designed the game to be easier than The Eight Pages. This is so a broader audience has a better chance at completion especially when we have further levels we want them to be able to progress to. But fear not, we have a 'Hardcore' difficulty mode for the ambitious.
